Experience Africa as it was meant to be seen from Amuka Lodge, nestled in a pristine woodlands forest, in the heart of the world-renowned Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Amuka Lodge brings you breathtaking encounters with Uganda’s only wild rhinoceros as well a wide array of birds and wildlife.

Our comfortable accommodations afford all the luxury not expected in the African wilderness, with unfenced chalets that make the most of the bush environment. Amuka has an escapist feel of seclusion and when you are here, it is like nothing else exists in the world.

Currently there are ten units; four family chalets with three beds – perfect for families and six standard chalets each with one bedroom and bathroom. Each chalet is named after one of our very own rhinos and was constructed from hardwood timber and stone. All chalets are complete with large, personal verandas where visitors can lounge on safari chairs and take in the serenity of the surroundings. All chalets are tucked into the woodlands which provide complete privacy

Amuka Lodge specializes in Safari Cuisine which integrates outdoor and indoor cooking and baking. Special meal requirements for vegetarians, vegans or those with allergies can be catered for upon request.

The day begins with a hearty breakfast and a quality cup of the world famous Ugandan coffee, assorted teas and freshly squeezed fruit juice. Given the tropical weather, Uganda abounds in fresh fruit which is always on order followed by various cereals, pancakes, sausages, hash-browns, sautéed onion with green peppers and tomatoes, baked beans, fried bananas and fried green tomatoes. No one leaves the table in the morning still hungry!
